The Norwich City School District seeks a certified school social worker to join our highly collaborative team. This is a probationary appointment which leads to a tenure track in school social work. The successful candidate will possess a strong ability to:
- Connect, inspire and empower all staff in interactions
- Adhere to our systematic MTSS and referral processes that support students
- Collaborate with classroom teachers on behavior intervention and the creation of student success plans
- Create group sessions with students needing Tier 3 interventions based on data
- Provide counseling to students with Individualized Education Plans
- Communicate effectively and frequently with all team members, including families
- Create and maintain relationships with, and connect families with outside service agencies
- Establish and maintain positive and trusting relationships with colleagues, students and the broader community
- Possess a proven ability to interact effectively with students and their families who represent cultures that are diverse in terms of race, class, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and other characteristics in order to build an effective and collaborative school community
- Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws
- Applicant must hold a certificate as a NYS Certified School Social Worker.

The NCSD is located in the center of Chenango County with a student population of 1,800 and a total staff of 400. We are a student-centered, technology rich district with excellent facilities. Pay: $47,482.00 - $96,000.00 per year
