We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join our team at American Montessori Academy Pediatric Therapy - South Loop! We offer the opportunity to complete your Registered Behavior Technician certification with supervision from a team of highly qualified BCBA's and BCBA-D’s - 40 hour training is required prior to starting. You will gain experience working with children, their caregivers, Montessori trained educators, and administrative team members all with competitive compensation. As a Behavior Technician, you will be responsible for implementing individualized behavior treatment plans for children with developmental disabilities, autism, and other related disorders at AMA school locations in the downtown Chicago area.
AMA Pediatric Therapy provides an integrated therapy approach where the most effective techniques from Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) are enhanced by integrating the Montessori educational philosophy. We strive to provide a mindful therapy approach that fosters a diverse, and inclusive culture to nurture Maria Montessori’s vision of empathy, compassion, and respect. Our therapists use a variety of evidenced-based practices grounded in ABA to build verbal and adaptive skills in a safe and consistent learning environment for children of all abilities. AMA Pediatric Therapy serves children engaged in the Montessori environment, ages 2-9, diagnosed with ASD and related conditions.
Qualifications:
- RBT Certification preferred - 40 hour training required
- Experience in ABA and/or childcare
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or Associates Degree
- Bachelors preferred but not required
- Pass a background check
Responsibilities:
- Learn from a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst how to provide therapy to children in a Montessori classroom environment
- Implement interventions, ensuring the completion of effective and evidence-based treatments
- Teach children communication, social, self-help, and play skills through Applied Behavioral Analysis principles
- Collect and record session notes and data on client progress
- Comply with BACB/RBT Code of Ethics and maintain practice parameters within individual scope of competence
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other team members
- Attend and participate in team meetings and trainings
