Overview
Join our new and growing psychiatric practice as a Therapist dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive mental health care to diverse patient populations including children ages 5 and up. In this vital role, you will deliver evidence-based psychotherapy and counseling services, utilizing a wide range of therapeutic modalities to support individuals across the lifespan. Your expertise will help empower patients to achieve emotional well-being, manage mental health conditions, and improve their overall quality of life. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a collaborative clinical environment committed to excellence and innovation. This is an in office position with a % based pay. You can set your own hours but are expected to be available for sessions in the clinic at least 20 hours per week. You will be credentialed with multiple commercial insurances as well as Medicaid.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including intake interviews and diagnostic evaluations, ensuring accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Provide individual counseling sessions focused on mental health.
  • Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure patient safety during acute episodes or emergencies.
  • Utilize telehealth platforms if needed, effectively to deliver remote therapy sessions while maintaining high standards of patient care and confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with Psychiatric NP as needed to coordinate comprehensive treatment approaches.
  • Maintain detailed medical records and documentation of patient progress using medical terminology and CPT coding for billing purposes.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in psychology, social work, counseling or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid licensure or certification as a licensed therapist (e.g., LCSW)
  • Proven experience in clinical mental health counseling within outpatient or inpatient settings; clinic experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of behavioral health treatments including behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychopharmacology basics, and crisis management techniques. DBT experience is a plus!
  • Experience working with children and adolescents is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with coding systems for diagnosis documentation; proficiency in medical records management.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage patients effectively through direct support and motivational interviewing techniques.
