Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) / Behavior Technician – School Setting
Location: Ashburn, Virginia
Duration: 10 Weeks (Potential extension through the 2026–2027 School Year)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Setting: High School (Autism Program)
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide one-on-one support to a student within a high school autism program. This role focuses on implementing structured behavioral interventions while supporting the student’s academic, social, and developmental growth in an educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 behavioral support to a student in a classroom setting
- Implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) under supervision of a BCBA or special education team
- Assist with academic activities, transitions, and daily routines
- Accurately collect and document behavioral data and student progress
- Support development of social, communication, and independent living skills
- Apply positive reinforcement and evidence-based behavioral strategies
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff to ensure consistency
- Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
- Utilize de-escalation techniques when necessary
- Adhere to school policies, confidentiality standards, and compliance guidelines
- Participate in Extended School Year (ESY) services as required
Qualifications
- Active RBT certification preferred OR relevant experience as a Behavior Technician
- High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or related field preferred
- Experience working with children or adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and consistent in challenging situations
- Prior experience in a school or educational setting preferred
- Ability to commit to full schedule and potential extension through the 2026–2027 school year
- Must pass background check and meet all school compliance requirements
