Registered Behavior Technician/ Behavioral Technician

Position Overview

Join our team as an EIDBI Behavior Therapist (RBT/Behavior Technician equivalent), where you will provide direct, evidence-based services to children and individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related conditions.

In this role, you will deliver Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)-based interventions under the supervision of a Qualified Supervising Professional (QSP) through Minnesota’s Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention (EIDBI) program. Your work will focus on building functional communication, social, behavioral, and daily living skills that promote independence and meaningful outcomes for clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct 1:1 or small group EIDBI services in home, clinic, school, or community settings.
• Implement individualized treatment plans (ITPs) developed and supervised by the QSP.
• Utilize ABA-based strategies (e.g., reinforcement, prompting, shaping, task analysis) to teach:
• Communication skills
• Social interaction
• Adaptive/daily living skills (ADLs)
• Behavior regulation
• Collect accurate, real-time data on client performance and behavior to track progress and inform clinical decisions.
• Maintain timely and compliant documentation, including session notes and behavior data, in accordance with Minnesota DHS and HIPAA requirements.
• Collaborate with caregivers, supervisors, and team members to ensure consistency and treatment fidelity.
• Support caregiver training and generalization of skills when appropriate.
• Apply proactive and reactive behavior strategies to safely and effectively manage challenging behaviors.
• Participate in ongoing supervision, team meetings, and required trainings.

Qualifications
Level I EIDBI Provider (Preferred)

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, social work, education, speech-language pathology).
• Minimum of 2,000 hours of supervised experience working with individuals with ASD or related conditions.
• Must be enrolled and approved with DHS as an EIDBI Level I provider.

Level II EIDBI Provider

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1,000 hours of supervised experience with individuals with ASD or related conditions.
• Actively working toward required training and supervision under a QSP.
• Must be eligible for DHS enrollment as an EIDBI Level II provider.

Preferred Qualifications

• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or pursuing certification
• Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
• CPR/First Aid Certification
• Knowledge of data collection systems and clinical documentation
• Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations

Work Environment

• Services may be provided in home, clinic, school, or community-based settings
• Active role may include sitting on the floor, engaging in play, and lifting up to 40 lbs
• Flexible scheduling based on client needs
