Bilingual (Spanish) Relief Counselor (SUDS)Are you a dedicated and compassionate behavioral health professional with a strong commitment to helping people experiencing substance use disorder who are involved in the criminal justice system? Emergence is seeking a Relief Counselor to provide support to our dedicated team of counselors. As a relief counselor, you will facilitate group therapy and help people along their journey to recovery. If you are a motivated and compassionate counselor with a deep understanding of SUD treatment and commitment to recovery, we invite you to join our team and contribute to the transformation of lives in our community and beyond.Emergence has provided treatment for substance use disorder in Lane County since 1981. We serve people who meet criteria for Level 1 Outpatient or Level 2.1 Intensive Outpatient, and provide treatment to people who need residential while they work their way through the waiting list. Our SUD programs include Discovery (DUII), Endeavor (probation), Focus Treatment Court, and Threshold (IOP).At Emergence, we know our employees are the most valuable asset we have. The collective sum of the individual differences, life experiences, knowledge, inventiveness, innovation, self-expression, unique capabilities and talent that our employees invest in their work represents a significant part of not only our culture, but our reputation and company's achievement as well.We embrace and encourage our employees' differences in age, color, disability, ethnicity, family or marital status, gender identity or expression, language, national origin, physical and mental ability, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, veteran status, and other characteristics that make our employees unique.Substance Use Disorder Counselor Position Highlights:$3,000 Sign On BONUS (prorated to hours worked), Up to $1500 on your first full paycheck and up to $2000 after 6 months, depending on hours workedNon-exempt position Hourly rate is $24.04/hr and up (based on education and experience)Flexible hours, no set schedule or required hours per monthAbility to decline offered shiftsPaid training and continuing educationSupportive, collaborative environmentSubstance Use Disorder Counselor Responsibilities:Assessing clients' physical and mental behaviorsFacilitating individual and group therapy sessions in English and SpanishCollaborating with psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, social workers, and departments of correctionIdentifying behaviors that interfere with treatment and recoveryAssisting primary caregivers to manage addiction-related behaviorMinimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalentSpeaks fluent Spanish and EnglishCADC-R, or ability to be credentialed as CADC-R by MHACBOOne year of experience in social services or behavioral healthExcellent written and oral communication skills.Exceptional interpersonal skills and a compassionate nature.Ability to pass a background check and drug screen (including cannabis)Preferred QualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in psychology or counselingCompleted coursework on substance use disordersCADC I certificationPrevious experience working in treatment for substance abuse disordersFamiliarity with electronic health record systems, specifically CareLogicExperience with co-occurring health and mental health disorders APPLICATION PROCEDURESComplete applications include a cover letter with 3 references and a resume.For questions: hr@4emergence.comEMERGENCE is an equal opportunity employer.
