We’re seeking Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners that are:

• Licensed in Virginia with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our outpatient mental health clinic. The PMHNP will provide high-quality psychiatric care to patients across the lifespan, conducting psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing mental health conditions, developing treatment plans, and prescribing medications. This role requires a patient-centered approach, a strong understanding of mental health diagnoses, and a collaborative attitude toward working with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including mental health history, current symptoms, and psychosocial factors.
• Diagnose and treat a wide range of psychiatric disorders, including mood disorders, anxiety, psychotic disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders.
• Develop individualized treatment plans, incorporating pharmacological, therapeutic, and psychoeducation interventions.
• Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including psychologists, social workers, and medical providers to deliver holistic care.
• Provide psychotherapy (individual therapy) as indicated and appropriate for patient care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) - Kareo (Tebra).
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
• Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and continuing education opportunities.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest psychiatric research, treatment protocols, and evidence-based practices.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution. DNP is a plus
• Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification from a recognized certification body (e.g., ANCC).
• Current, active state licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing, preferably in an outpatient mental health setting.
• Knowledge of psychiatric assessment techniques, diagnostic criteria, and psychopharmacology.
• Ability to establish rapport with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Proficient in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Commitment to providing compassionate and culturally competent care.

Job Type: Contract (20 Hours/Week)

Pay: $70.00 - $80.00 per hour
