About the Role

Sunflower Psychotherapy is seeking a warm, reflective LMSW/MHC-LP/MFT-LP to join our queer-affirming group practice. This position offers a balance of in-network referrals with the opportunity to build a private pay caseload, supported by consistent supervision and guidance toward full clinical licensure. Ideal candidates are interested in developing an online presence and learning the foundations of building a private practice. Think of this three-year training as an incubation period designed to help you grow clinically and professionally—so that by the time you’re fully licensed, you’re ready to launch your own thriving practice.

What We Offer

• Compensation: $50 per in-network session; 60% fee split for private pay/out-of-network sessions
• Schedule: Autonomy over your caseload (minimum 20 patients/week)
• Referrals Provided: In-network patients + support building private pay caseload
• Supervision: Weekly individual and group supervision (psychodynamic, EMDR, IFS, SE-informed)
• Platform: Free access to telehealth system — no platform fees
• Location: Remote, with option for hybrid in-person sessions (Midtown)

As a queer practice owner, I believe in supporting not just the clinician, but the whole person in their growth and direction. My supervision style is gentle, collaborative, and focused on helping you cultivate confidence, autonomy, and clinical depth. Our supervision group provides a space to show up authentically among colleagues, offering opportunities for learning, reflection, and mutual support. Along the way, you’ll receive guidance on private practice skills such as billing, marketing, and networking. Clinicians are also encouraged to facilitate skills-based groups to expand access to therapy and bring greater variety to their caseloads for sustainability.

Qualifications

• LMSW/MHC-LP/MFT-LP license (New York State required)
• Strong interest in an integrative approach and EMDR
• Commitment to inclusive, affirming care for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities
• Reliable, self-directed, and open to ongoing supervision

Compensation: $50–$90+ per session
