ABS Behavioral Services is looking for a kind, organized, reliable person to join our team as a Registered Behavior Technician for clinic, in-home, and school sessions in and around Skokie! ABS serves children with autism and related disabilities ranging from age 2-10. Our learners are valuable members of their own treatment team and we prioritize their assent to treatment and their goals and values along the way. We teach a wide range of skills including language development, social skills, daily living skills, and replacements for challenging behavior. We provide services in multiple environments and work closely with parents and other service providers to ensure that our clients have the best and most effective experience.
Job responsibilities include:
- Deliver ABA therapy in a one to one or group setting in the clinic and school
- Implement skill acquisition and behavior reduction programming under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Collect and document session notes and client data
- Communicate clearly throughout the week with other staff, supervisors, and parents
- Support clinic operations by assisting with organizing and creating program materials
Qualified candidates:
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and enjoy working with a wide variety of people, including children and adults
- Have strong organizational skills and good time management
- Enjoy working in a flexible work environment with different tasks on a daily and weekly basis
- Minimum requirement of high school diploma or GED. Preferred candidates have an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, child development, or a related field
- 1+ year work experience with children or people with disabilities (ex: nanny, paraprofessional, crisis management, etc; direct ABA experience strongly preferred)
- Preferred candidates have RBT certification. Certification required within 3 months of hire
- Must pass a background check
- Must be available until 6pm Mondays-Fridays
- Must have reliable transportation to transport self between home, school, and clinic setting each day
- Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs and be able to move between sitting, standing, crouching, kneeling, and crawling with a client.
