Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Recreation Therapist located in Long Beach, CA. The Recreation Therapist will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating therapeutic recreation programs to support patients' physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Responsibilities include conducting therapeutic exercises, leading group activities, maintaining progress notes, and using creative interventions such as art therapy to address patient needs. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team will also be a key part of the role to optimize patient care.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Recreation and Therapeutic Recreation techniques
• Recreation Therapy certified (RTC) or Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) certification or eligibility
• Experience and skills in maintaining accurate and thorough Progress Notes
• Knowledge of and experience in implementing Art Therapy practices
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patient engagement and teamwork
• Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field
• Previous experience in a healthcare or clinical setting is a plus
• Ability to adapt therapeutic activities to meet diverse patient needs
