University of Georgia, a Division I member of the Southeastern Conference is currently seeking applications for the position of Academic Services Intern. The position is an 11-month appointment beginning in July 2026 and ending in May 2027.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification In Position
Master’s degree preferred in Education, Psychology, Sport Management, or a related field.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in collegiate athletics academic support, higher education, teaching, or related field
- Experience working with academically at-risk student-athlete populations
- Familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations
- Adhere to NCAA rules and the Family Educational Rights to Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Have strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail (specifically excel worksheets) and the ability to set appropriate professional boundaries while maintaining confidentiality.
- Collaborates with UGAAA Football academic staff and campus partners to support assigned caseload.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast- paced environment.
- In addition to regular office hours, this field often requires night and weekend hours where applicable to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.
- Ability to communicate effectively and accurately, both orally and written.
- Adept at creating and overseeing program management documents, and the ability to interact with a various population of student-athletes and staff.
- Computer experience in Microsoft Office and database knowledge is also highly recommended.
- Excellent communication skills; strong work ethic, well organized, self-starter, and self-motivated; willingness to collaborate; ability to prioritize a workload and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Desire to obtain full-time employment in student-athlete academic support
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job; the employee will stand; walk; reach with hands and arms. The employee will occasionally sit and talk or hear, lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Driving as needed to perform job duties.
