Assist with daily operations related to football academics and administrative tasks to support the Director of Academic Counseling

Assist in data collection and tracking of current trends of the football teams academic performance

University of Georgia, a Division I member of the Southeastern Conference is currently seeking applications for a graduate assistant to provide administrative support for the Academic Counseling unit 13-20 hours per week. The position is a 10-month appointment available beginning August 2026 and ending in May 2027.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification In Position

Bachelor’s degree. Acceptance into a University of Georgia graduate program. Enrolling in at least 9 graduate-level credit hours per semester.

Preferred candidates will have a strong interest in pursuing a career in Intercollegiate Athletics.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Experience in collegiate athletics academic support, higher education, teaching, or related field Experience working with academically student-athlete populations

Familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies

  • Read and write business correspondence and to communicate proficiently with individuals within and outside the University by telephone and email.
  • Work independently and handle multiple tasks.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills, skills in organizing and coordinating meetings, and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels.
  • Have computer experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and database knowledge is also highly recommended.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job; the employee will stand; walk; reach with hands and arms. The employee will sit and talk or hear. The employee will lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Driving as needed to perform job duties.
