Under close direction of program director, conducts data collection and process monitoring activities to support externally funded research projects.
Position Key Accountabilities:
- Under close supervision, conducts research activities according to the SAMHSA-funded UTHealth HOMES and National Institutes of Health (NIH) research protocols. Research activities may include some or all of the following: participant recruiting, screening, enrollment, and assisting with informed consent. data collection, administration of clinical assessments and 6-month follow-up assessments. Additionally, 20% of the project effort will be devoted to developing motivational interviewing scripts for chatbot development.
- Collects, evaluates, and interprets research data to provide needed information to principal investigators and other researchers. Updates records, and databases as needed.
- Develops evidence-based scripts to encourage healthy lifestyle behaviors to prevent diabetes.
- Stays abreast of new and updated protocols for the UTHealth HOMES and NIH projects.
- As needed, will coordinate with the clinical and research teams, patients, and participants to ensure efficient, timely and high-quality results.
- Complies with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulations, and codes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
General knowledge of research fields.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in lieu of education. Education and/or experience working with mental health, substance use, medical or social services systems including individuals who are unhoused preferred.
Minimum Experience:
No years of experience.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds constantly and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.
