Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to promote skill development and reduce challenging behaviors
- Collect, record, and analyze data on client behaviors to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments
- Support clients during therapy sessions, ensuring a safe and engaging environment that encourages learning and growth
- Assist with patient assessments and intake procedures to help develop tailored care strategies
- Maintain accurate medical records, documentation, and reports in compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards
- Collaborate with supervisors, therapists, and family members to ensure consistency in intervention strategies
- Participate in ongoing training related to behavioral therapy techniques, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation processes
Skills
- Strong understanding of behavioral therapy techniques and principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA)
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder
- Knowledge of medical documentation practices, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance
- Ability to collect precise data during therapy sessions and interpret results effectively
- Compassionate patient care skills combined with patience and excellent communication abilities
- Familiarity with special education strategies and working within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to perform behavioral health assessments and support diagnostic evaluations as needed
