Part-Time Middle School Counselor
The Anchored School is seeking a compassionate and skilled Middle School Counselor to support students and families in building strong, respectful relationships and fostering social-emotional growth.
Position Overview
The counselor partners with students, families, and staff to promote emotional well-being, positive communication, and healthy relationship skills while guiding them through challenging moments with a focus on understanding, collaboration, and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students in developing self-awareness, emotional regulation, and positive peer interactions.
- Facilitate student and family conversations that promote understanding, respect, and shared solutions.
- Partner with parents/caregivers to strengthen communication and support positive interactions at home
- Provide guidance and tools to help families navigate strong emotions constructively.
- Collaborate with school staff to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
- Lead small-group sessions or workshops on empathy, resilience, and effective communication.
Qualifications
- Degree in school counseling, psychology, or a related field
- Experience working with adolescents and families
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Commitment to strengths-based, culturally responsive practices
- Ability to support families, students, and caregivers with social-emotional skill-building while setting clear boundaries.
