Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health counseling and behavioral therapy, with a focus on helping individuals overcome substance abuse challenges. This role involves providing support, guidance, and therapeutic interventions to clients struggling with addiction, while fostering a safe and supportive environment for recovery.

Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to identify substance abuse issues and develop tailored treatment plans.
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Behavioral Therapy.
  • Implement case management strategies to monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational workshops on topics related to substance abuse, coping strategies, and relapse prevention.
  • Collect and analyze data related to client outcomes to inform treatment approaches and improve service delivery.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care for clients with co-occurring mental health disorders, including PTSD Care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with regulatory standards.

Experience

  • A degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
  • An LCDC, LCDC-CI, LMSW, or LPC license is required.
  • Proven experience in substance abuse counseling or mental health counseling is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with case management practices and behavior management techniques.
  • Knowledge of coding systems for mental health services is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective documentation and reporting.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
