Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Human Resources Coordinator/Social Worker to support our organization’s HR functions, resident wellness, and initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of human resources management, including talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with employment laws. As a vital member of our team, you will facilitate effective workforce management, streamline HR processes, and foster a positive organizational culture and resident experience through strategic planning and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

1) Oversee interviewing and hiring, then partner with departments to streamline onboarding staff.

2) Provides a framework for constructive and timely performance evaluations.

3) Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

4) Works collaboratively with offboard departing employees.

5) Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.

6) Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs. Administers, oversees, or collaborates on the administration of human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, leave, and disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

7) Bridges management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.

8) Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.

9) Assists with the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of current staff.

10) Nurtures a positive working environment.

11) Monitors and collaborates with other organizational leaders and advisors to ensure the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain DHS compliance.

12) Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.

13) Conduct initial psychosocial assessments, providing yearly updates and revisions.

14) Offer emotional support to residents coping with life changes, loss, or health challenges.

15) Act as a liaison between residents, families, and staff, facilitating meetings and resolving conflicts.

16) Coordinate services such as hospice or skilled nursing.

17) Coordinate the discharge process, preparing care plans for residents returning to the community.

18) Ensure residents' rights and dignity are protected, including responding to complaints or allegations of abuse/neglect.

19) Provide immediate support during emergencies or acute emotional distress.

20) Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor, which relate to the success of The Laurels and the care, comfort, and happiness of our residents.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
