200 Day position
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Georgia Service Certificate in School Counseling (P-12).
- Master’s Degree or higher.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prompt and regular attendance.
- In person classroom instruction.
- Prepares and implements a school based guidance plan.
- Provides orientation for new students entering the school.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date student permanent records.
- Administers the ongoing testing and evaluation program as designated by the system testing program.
- Interprets test results to students and parents.
- Secures and arranges needed information to complete student analysis.
- Provides individual and group counseling.
- Develops with the school administrator and other staff, a crisis intervention plan.
- Provides applications for colleges/other post-high school institutions and helps students’ complete applications.
- Assists students with evaluation and interpretation of their educational or vocational career goals.
- Provides alternatives rather than decisions in the counseling process.
- Provides job placement information regarding available jobs in the community.
- Assists the total school program by providing information and being part of special education placement committees when requested.
- Assists with constructing the master schedule and with student class assignments. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities assigned by the Principal or Superintendent of Schools.
Terms of Employment: Salary shall be paid consistent on the System's salary schedule. Length of work year and hours of employment shall be established by the system.
