Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (AMFT) with a strong interest in trauma-focused work to join our team in a part-time weekend role.This role is especially well-suited for AMFTs seeking to fulfill their supervised hours in the couples and families category, with a primary focus on family therapy, attachment dynamics, and relational repair within a residential level of care.This position offers a unique opportunity to:
- Work closely with clients navigating trauma, attachment wounds, and family system dynamics
- Develop skills in trauma-informed family therapy and collateral work
- Gain experience integrating somatic and evidence-based modalities in a residential setting
The role includes providing family therapy, facilitating groups, and supporting the clinical milieu, while completing all documentation within scheduled hours.Weekly group supervision is provided remotely on Wednesdays from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM, with a focus on clinical growth, case consultation, and trauma-informed care.Key Responsibilities
- Provide family therapy for a caseload of up to 6 clients, with an emphasis on attachment and relational patterns
- Facilitate 2 therapeutic groups per week (1 each day)
- Complete all clinical documentation (progress notes, collateral notes, etc.) within scheduled hours
- Engage family members and collaterals in treatment in a clinically thoughtful and trauma-informed manner
- Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically sound documentation in the EMR
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support continuity of care and treatment planning
- Support a safe, regulated, and structured therapeutic milieu
- Monitor client participation and address behavioral or emotional concerns as they arise
- Participate in weekly group supervision and case consultation
- Communicate effectively with clinical leadership regarding client progress, risk, or concerns
Qualifications
- Registered AMFT in the state of California
- Master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, or related field
- Preferred: Experience in trauma, PTSD, and/or dual diagnosis treatment, and group facilitation
- Strong interest in trauma-informed care, attachment work, and somatic approaches
- Experience with or training in DBT, CBT, or somatic modalities
- Ability to hold clinical boundaries while maintaining warmth and attunement
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team
- Must pass background check and meet health clearance requirements
