AVN / Low Voltage Technician

Job Description

North Austin electrical contractor seeking Low Voltage Technician to assist with rough and trims and alarm installations. Individual must be diligent, meticulous, have excellent attendance, and work overtime as needed. Must have excellent organizational and analytical skills. Individual must be able to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and follow specific instruction.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties:

New construction: complete rough-in and trim-out low voltage wiring.
Terminate and test coax (RG6) and category (5e, 6, and 6e cables).
Complete work orders to track time and materials.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues pertaining to low voltage wiring.
Perform installation and testing activities on residential security equipment.

Prerequisites and Qualifications:

Current TDLR Apprentice Electrician license.
Private Security License – either already obtained or willing to obtain.
Advanced knowledge of low voltage wiring, and residential construction preferred.
Ability to read and understand electrical plans.
Familiarity with computer networks.
Familiarity with A/V control systems.
Pay high attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

NOTE: This job requires a current TDLR Apprentice License AND a Private Security License. All costs associated with obtaining and maintaining licenses will be the candidate's/employee's responsibility.

This position is hourly with an option to enroll in benefits including health insurance with employer contribution and a 401k plan with an employer matching contribution.
