- Student Services
- Works to prevent students from dropping out of school.
- Works with students on an as needed basis to help resolve issues related to school or school performance.
- Confers with parents whenever necessary.
- Provides “crisis Counseling” as needed
- Serves as a resource to parents regarding agencies outside the district providing specialized services to students.
- Registers new students to the school and helps orient them to school procedures and the schools’ varied opportunities for learning.
- Maintains student records and protects their confidentiality.
- Works with teachers and other staff members to familiarize them with the general range of services offered through the district’s K-12 guidance program to improve the educational prospects of individual students.
- Provides input to administrators and faculty on matters dealing with overall student performance.
- Coordinates students testing with the assessment coordinator
- Implements the Missouri Comprehensive Guidance Curriculum
- Conducts needs assessments as required
- Participates in annual evaluation of the Guidance Program
- Collaborates with school based therapist and outside agencies regarding student services
- Career Awareness and Preparation
- Aids students in course and subject selection to maximize career opportunities
- Disseminates occupational information to students and to classes.
- Supervises the preparation and processing of college, scholarship and employment applications (for graduating seniors?), as well as work permits for students under the age of 16.
- Provides information to colleges and potential employers according to the provisions of the Board’s policy on student records.
- Ensures students are on track to graduate
- Compiles information relating to class rank and individual grade point average.
- Coordinates dual credit enrollment
- Supervises the work study program and student financial aid applications
- Assists with graduation activities and awards ceremonies
- Serves as the Credit Recovery and Launch Coordinator
- Other duties/responsibilities as assigned
- Complies with all board policies and regulations
