Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team in Hamilton. This role involves providing behavioral therapy and support to children with autism. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to implement individualized treatment plans, collect data, and support positive behavioral outcomes. Prior experience in behavioral health or special education is required, along with a strong understanding of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles. Responsibilities
- Implement evidence-based behavioral interventions based on individualized treatment plans.
- Collect and record accurate data on client behaviors to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments.
- Support children with autism and other developmental disabilities through patient care and therapeutic activities.
- Conduct behavioral assessments and assist with diagnostic evaluations under supervision.
- Maintain detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
- Assist with intake procedures, including gathering relevant medical and behavioral history.
- Collaborate with families, educators, and healthcare professionals to ensure consistency across settings.
- Support the implementation of behavioral health strategies tailored to each child's needs.
- Participate in ongoing training related to applied behavior analysis (ABA), special education, and other relevant areas.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in behavioral therapy, special education, or related fields is required.
- Knowledge of behavioral health concepts such as applied behavior analysis (ABA), patient assessment, and diagnostic evaluation.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation, and medical records management.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to collect data accurately and utilize it for treatment planning.
- Compassionate attitude towards patients and their families, with excellent communication skills. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting children’s development through evidence-based interventions while gaining valuable experience in a clinical setting.
Pay: $18.00 - $27.00 per hour
