The Community Liaison serves as a key representative of the Law Office of Polly Tatum, responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships throughout Central Massachusetts. This role focuses on developing strategic partnerships with senior living communities, healthcare providers, and local organizations, while increasing awareness of the firm’s legal services.


This position plays a vital role in the firm’s growth by generating referral opportunities, coordinating educational outreach, and strengthening the firm’s presence within the community. The Community Liaison is often the first point of contact with prospective clients and partners and must consistently reflect the firm’s professionalism, integrity, and client-centered approach.


Compensation:
$75,000 plus bonus. Perks -Medical & Dental Insurance, Performance-based bonuses, Generous PTO & Paid Holidays, Complimentary Estate Planning Services, All-expenses-paid trip after 5 years of service, ongoing recognition, team events, and celebrations

Responsibilities:

Community Relationship Development

  • Build and maintain relationships with assisted living facilities, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, senior centers, and community organizations throughout Central Massachusetts.
  • Develop referral partnerships with social workers, case managers, financial advisors, healthcare providers, and other professionals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for community inquiries and partnership opportunities.
  • Represent the firm at networking events, community programs, and professional meetings.


Educational Outreach & Events

  • Plan, coordinate, and host educational seminars and workshops on relevant legal topics (e.g., estate planning, elder law, asset protection).
  • Deliver clear, engaging presentations tailored to seniors, families, and community groups.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to ensure content is accurate, current, and aligned with the firm’s services.
  • Identify and develop new outreach opportunities to expand the firm’s visibility.


Business Development

  • Support the firm’s growth by identifying opportunities to increase referrals and community engagement.
  • Track and nurture referral sources and partnership relationships.
  • Assist in executing local marketing and outreach initiatives.


Communication & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, contacts, and event attendance.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on community engagement, opportunities, and outcomes.
  • Gather feedback from community partners to help improve services and outreach strategy.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred (communications, business, social work, or related field).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in community outreach, business development, client relations, or a similar role.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication and public speaking ability.
  • Proficiency with standard office software and the ability to manage organized records.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with senior populations, healthcare organizations, or legal services.
  • Familiarity with estate planning, elder law, or related legal areas.
  • Established network within Central Massachusetts.


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible, field-based schedule.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to represent the firm effectively in public settings.
  • Empathy and sensitivity when working with seniors and families.
  • Willingness to attend occasional evening or weekend events.


Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Regular travel throughout Central Massachusetts.
  • Ability to transport materials (up to 25 lbs) and participate in in-person events.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
