Behavior Technician (BT)
Who We Are:
Cardinal Pediatric Therapies provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for autistic children and children with developmental delays. We deliver individualized therapy and collaborate closely with families to support meaningful progress beyond therapy sessions.
This role is designed for individuals who are early in their ABA career and motivated to earn their Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification with structured training and support.
What This Role Is About:
As a Behavior Technician, you will work one-on-one with children during scheduled therapy sessions. Using play, routines, and structured activities, you will help children build communication, behavior, social, and daily living skills while learning foundational ABA principles.
You will follow an individualized treatment plan developed by a licensed supervisor and receive ongoing coaching as you work toward RBT certification.
What You Will Do
Provide one-on-one ABA therapy sessions in clinic, home, school, or community settings
Use engaging, age-appropriate activities to support skill development
Encourage positive behaviors through reinforcement and consistency
Collect session data and complete simple documentation
Communicate professionally with families and collaborate with your care team
Participate in required training, supervision, and feedback
Training, Certification, and Career Progression:
This role includes structured support to help you meet the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) requirements for RBT certification, including:
Completion of a 40-hour BACB-approved RBT training program
Successful completion of the RBT Competency Assessment with a qualified supervisor
Passing the RBT examination administered through the BACB
Adherence to the BACB RBT Ethics Code
Cardinal provides access to training resources, supervision, and exam preparation support.
You must be able and willing, with or without reasonable accommodation, to obtain your RBT certification within 60 days of hire. Continued employment in this role is contingent upon meeting this requirement.

Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Commitment to obtain RBT certification within 60 days
Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)
TB test completed within the past 12 months
Ability to pass criminal background and abuse registry checks
Arizona applicants: valid Fingerprint Clearance Card required
Reliable transportation to assigned work locations
Ability to work directly with children for multiple hours per day
Preferred Qualifications:
Background or coursework in education, psychology, healthcare, social work, or related fields
Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities
Interest in a long-term career in ABA or behavioral health
