The full-time Psychologist is located in the Mental Health Service Line (MHSL) at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System (MVAHCS). The incumbent will conduct research, program evaluation and statistical and data informatic support as a psychologist researcher for the MHSL Executive Team, Clinician Investigator Team (CIT), staff and training programs. Additional clinical duties will be provided in the MHSL.

Clinician Investigator Duties:
* Serves as a statistician for planning, analytic and dissemination phases of current and future research and program evaluation studies.
* Participates in all phases of the conduct of mental health research, with a focus on quantitative research methodology with current state-of-the-art statistical software applications and programming languages.
* Provides technical consultation, expert statistical review, and editorial review of research proposals, analysis plans and study results, papers, presentations and manuals, etc.
* Provides expert input on use of large VA and non-VA databases to evaluate healthcare delivery, practice patterns and outcomes, integration of statistical methods to enhance individual study design and analysis, and development and assessment of a full spectrum of health indicators and outcome measures for populations, practices, institutions, providers and patients.

Data Informatics Responsibilities:
* Provides data informatics in support of the Mental Health Service Line (MHSL) which includes collaborating with the MHSL Executive Team.
* Oversees the structure and function of statistical consultations and services in MHSL. With input of MHSL Executive Team, allocates appropriate programming and analysis effort to specific projects, and develops strategic plans for future projects that meet the needs of the MHSL Executive Team, CIT and staff.
* Oversees the review of a myriad of data sources available from VA and non-VA sources that are relevant to the research and administrative agendas. Evaluates for specific research and administrative questions the data requested, appropriate sources of data, data quality and accuracy, and data applicability with respect to statistical measurement, presentation, reliability, etc.
Clinical Responsibilities:
* Within the scope of privileges granted, incumbent provides a full range of psychological services utilizing appropriate assessment instruments and structured interviews, generates psychological reports based on assessments, serves as a source of information in the use and interpretation of tests to make differential diagnoses, and provides consultation to other disciplines or units as requested.
* Within the scope of privileges granted, provides a full range of patient care interventions, including individual, family, and group therapy, as well as specialized interventions. When appropriate uses newly proven or evidence- based techniques. Presents informed reports or educates multi-disciplinary teams.
* Attempts to stay current with assessment and therapy techniques by reviewing and/or participating in research; and by promoting, initiating, assisting or engaging in program evaluation and/or other basic and applied research activities.

Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year). Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
