We are seeking experienced Underground Percussive Drillers to join our team. This role is responsible for safely and efficiently operating percussive drilling equipment in underground mining environments. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work productively in challenging conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Operate underground percussive drilling equipment (top hammer, ITH) in various ground conditionsAccurately collar and drill blast holes according to engineering plans and supervisor directionPerform ground support drilling, scaling awareness, and hazard identificationConduct pre-operational inspections and routine maintenance on drilling equipmentTroubleshoot mechanical issues and coordinate repairs when necessaryHandle drill steels, bits, and associated tooling safely and efficientlyMaintain clear communication with supervisors, engineers, and crew membersFollow all MSHA regulations, site-specific safety procedures, and company policiesEnsure proper ventilation awareness and safe work practices in confined underground spacesComplete required documentation including daily reports, safety logs, and equipment checklists

Qualifications

Minimum 3-1 years of underground percussive drilling experienceStrong knowledge of underground mining methods and drilling techniqueExperience operating jackleg and/or mechanized percussive drillsAbility to read and interpret drill plans and layoutsFamiliarity with ground support practices is a plusMechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsStrong commitment to safety and hazard recognitionAbility to pass pre-employment drug screening and physicalValid driver’s license; CDL is a plus
Physical Requirements

Ability to work in confined spaces, low light, and varying underground conditionsCapable of lifting 50+ lbs and handling heavy drilling equipmentComfortable working in wet, dusty, and uneven environmentsAbility to stand, kneel, climb, and work long shiftsWhat We Offer
