Support Whole-Person Wellness as a Behavioral Health Consultant
As a Behavioral Health Consultant, you’ll partner with primary care teams to provide integrated, person-centered support that addresses both mental and physical health. You’ll help patients set goals, navigate barriers, and access the resources they need to achieve lasting wellness.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide in-person and remote consultation to patients and primary care providers on a range of health concerns, including mental health, chronic conditions, and wellness management
- Administer and interpret screening tools, and assist patients with goal setting and readiness for change using motivational interviewing
- Identify barriers to treatment or medication adherence and support patients in overcoming them
- Facilitate psycho-educational groups on self-management of health concerns
- Conduct brief crisis interventions and safety planning as needed
- Maintain accurate client records, communicate regularly with healthcare team members, and provide referrals to additional behavioral health or social services
- Collaborate with Nurse Care Managers and other team members to address care gaps and quality metrics
- Stay current on therapeutic techniques, best practices, and program admission/utilization criteria
- Provide licensure supervision and perform utilization review activities as assigned
- Attend required trainings and maintain productivity expectations
Requirements, Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling, or psychology required
QUALIFICATION(S): WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- At least one (1) year of supervised experience treating mental health and behavioral issues related to chronic medical conditions required
- Working knowledge of DSM-5 preferred
QUALIFICATION(S): LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
- Must hold Missouri licensure under one of the following: PLPC, PLMFT, LMSW, or full licensure in the state of Missouri
