Under a board-approved supervisor, provides clinical and consultative services to prevent, assess, evaluate, and treat mental emotional or behavioral disorders.
Responsibilities
- Provides counseling and case management services for patients using evidence-based practices.
- Performs crisis interventions as needed.
- Coordinates with referring providers and other professionals, family members as needed, to engage patient in care.
- Provides liaison between clinical team, clinical leadership, and other professionals involved in the patient’s care.
- Consults and assures continuity of care, conveys assessment findings, and implements therapeutic plans.
- Prepares reports and other documentation in accordance with good clinical practice and institutional standards.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge and clinical experience with mental health issues.
- Demonstrated ability to provide diagnostic assessment.
- Ability to establish and maintain trust and rapport.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
Master's degree or higher in professional counseling or related field is required.
Experience
Up to one (1) year related experience.
Licenses/Certifications
At minimum, registered with the Texas Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists as an intern. QMHP eligible and on track to LPC preferred.
