Personal Care Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for clients, ensuring their comfort and well-being in a home or assisted living environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care and fostering positive relationships with clients.

Duties

• Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
• Provide meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition based on dietary needs.
• Monitor and record vital signs as needed, reporting any changes to healthcare professionals.
• Support clients with mobility and physical activities, including lifting when necessary.
• Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and companionship.
• Assist with medication reminders and adherence to prescribed health plans.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring all areas are tidy and organized.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, family members, and social workers to coordinate care plans.

Skills

• Experience in home health care or assisted living settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and basic health care practices.
• Ability to cook nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements.
• Understanding of working with individuals with developmental disabilities or other disabilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
• Physical capability to lift clients as needed while ensuring safety protocols are followed.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
