Adult Peer Support Specialist (2nd shift 3-11 pm, Full Time)

Get Set Go Health & Wellness Company, LLC is dedicated to empowering individuals on their recovery journey. Our Adult Peer Support Services (APSS) provide structured, community-based support for adults (18+) living with mental illness and/or substance use disorders. We focus on recovery, self-determination, self-advocacy, and strengthening daily living skills to promote independence and long-term wellness.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist to provide compassionate, recovery-oriented peer support services. This role centers on lived experience, mutuality, and relationship-building to help individuals strengthen resilience, access services, and progress toward personal recovery goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and group peer support services in community-based settings
• Build supportive, trusting relationships using recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practices
• Assist individuals with completing applications, referrals, and paperwork to access community resources
• Observe, document, and report behavioral changes, progress, and service delivery in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements
• Utilize therapeutic communication to engage individuals and encourage participation in services
• Provide wellness education and skills training, including coping skills, problem-solving, anger management, and emotional regulation
• Collaborate with treatment providers and team members to promote continuity of care
• Facilitate and lead peer support groups focused on empowerment, recovery, and self-advocacy
• Maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, and ethical standards at all times
• Complete required documentation accurately and within designated timeframes

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Successful completion of a Certified Peer Support Specialist Training Program (5-day training with written and verbal exams)
• Must self-identify as a person with lived experience of mental illness and/or recovery from substance use disorder
• Demonstrated understanding of the recovery process and ability to use lived experience to support others
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
