Overview: The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) serves as a Center Mental Health Consultant (CMHC) supporting the Hawaii Job Corps Center. This role focuses on providing prevention, assessment, short-term counseling, and case management services to adolescents and young adults enrolled in the Job Corps program.Site Location: Hawaii Job Corps Center (Hawaii)Work Schedule:Minimum 21 hours/week up to 42.2 hours/weekSchedule determined by center needs prior to start dateMay include adjusted schedules during emergencies (e.g., weather, pandemic)Employment Type: Independent ContractorPopulation Served: Adolescents and young adults (primarily disadvantaged backgrounds)The LCSW works collaboratively with the Health and Wellness team to address mental health barriers impacting student success and employability. *Position is contingent upon contract award. Responsibilities: Assessment & EvaluationConduct mental health assessments for applicants and enrolled studentsReview applicant files and participate in:File Review Team (FRT)Disability Accommodation Committee (DAC)Evaluate mental health stability and recommend:Program admissionAccommodation needsReferral or denial recommendations (as appropriate)Case ManagementDevelop and implement individualized case management plansIdentify barriers to employability and create targeted interventionsCollaborate with multidisciplinary staff (counselors, medical staff, TEAP specialists)Participate in regular case conferences and follow-upsTreatment & CounselingProvide short-term counseling using an EAP (Employee Assistance Program) modelDeliver crisis intervention and emergency mental health evaluationsRefer students to off-center providers for long-term or specialized careSupport students on psychotropic medications in coordination with medical staffProgram Support & CollaborationWork closely with:Health and Wellness DirectorCounseling staffCenter Physician and nursing teamProvide consultation and training to staff on mental health topicsAssist in developing student support strategies and interventionsMental Health Promotion & EducationConduct:Orientation presentations for new studentsAnnual center-wide mental health initiativesPromote awareness on topics such as stress, depression, and crisis responseCommunity CoordinationEstablish and maintain referral networks with community providersCoordinate services with external agencies (e.g., psychiatric facilities, vocational rehab) Qualifications: Education: Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW)Licensure: Active, unrestricted LCSW license in the state of HawaiiExperience:Minimum 1 year as an independent practitionerExperience working with adolescents and young adultsPreferred Experience:Work in schools, correctional settings, military, or similar environmentsExperience with disadvantaged populationsOther Requirements:Ability to practice independently (no supervision required)Background check clearanceProfessional liability insuranceStrong collaboration and case management skillsAKAHI ASSOCIATES LLC AKAHI Associates is a premier provider of healthcare workers to various military treatment facilities across the United States.
