Position Description

Attending Psychologist

UCSF Health is currently recruiting for a sleep psychologist position in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The position will be filled in a rank and series commensurate with experience, with an anticipated start date of September 1, or thereafter.

Responsibilities

  • Providing behavioral sleep medicine services to patients within the UCSF Neuro/Psych Sleep Clinic, including cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), behavioral nightmare therapy treatments, management of circadian rhythm dysfunction, PAP non-adherence, and behavioral management of hypersomnia
  • Participating in teaching, supervision and assessment of trainees.
  • Collaborating with other department members on research projects and scholarly activities.
  • Engaging in innovation and improvements in clinical, research, and educational programs.
  • Participating in departmental, university, and public service.

Qualifications

  • PhD in psychology or equivalent, postdoctoral training in psychology or equivalent, and licensed to practice psychology in California at the time of appointment.
  • Demonstrated specialization in sleep and/or health psychology.
  • Demonstrated clinical, educational, and administrative skills with a strong commitment to an academic career as a clinician-educator.
  • Competence in working with a range of communities and populations.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5 The minimum base salary range for this position is $106,000 - $319,800. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
