Experteer Overview In this role you deliver direct psychiatric and medical care to behavioral health patients, including evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment under administrative direction. You will supervise clinical and medical staff and participate in program oversight and quality assurance. You act as an expert resource for organizational analyses and ensure care aligns with laws and Medi-Cal standards. This position combines clinical practice with leadership, crisis intervention, and court-related testimony to support county behavioral health services. Compensation / Benefits • Evaluate patients to determine therapeutic and medical needs and develop treatment plans • Perform psychiatric evaluations, diagnose, and prescribe treatment • Maintain comprehensive patient documentation per Medi-Cal standards • Provide crisis intervention, medication management, and hospitalization commitment decisions • Lead and train staff, interns, and residents; participate in QA and protocol training • Prepare intake/discharge summaries and progress notes; maintain medical records • Offer expert witness testimony and consultation to service programs and agencies • Participate in utilization review and other committees; ensure regulatory compliance • Coordinate care across county jail, juvenile programs, and treatment facilities • Oversee patient care as case coordinator and provide supervision as assigned Tasks • Graduation from a AMA-certified school of medicine or osteopathy in good standing; successful completion of an approved residency • Valid license to practice medicine in California and board certification by ABMS or AOA • Must possess a valid US driver’s license at application and obtain CA license after hire • Experience in psychiatric medicine, clinical leadership, and program oversight • Knowledge of Medi-Cal regulations and medical necessity documentation • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and interact with diverse stakeholders Key requirements •
