Substitute Pool Behavior Technician (BT)

  • Location(s): Inglewood and Culver City
  • Pay: $24–$27/hr (based on experience)
  • Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–2:30 PM (up to 29 hrs/week, school calendar)
  • Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technicians (BTs) or candidates with direct ABA or behavioral support experience to support students in educational settings. This role involves working directly with students with behavioral, physical, and/or developmental special needs—either one-on-one or in classroom environments—to implement behavior support strategies and promote positive outcomes. Most assignments are 1:1, with occasional classroom support. You will work at one school site per shift, with many assignments lasting the entire school year, and student placements are matched to your demonstrated experience level.

Responsibilities

  • Implement behavior intervention plans developed by a BCBA
  • Provide direct support to students in 1:1 or classroom settings
  • Collect and document behavioral data
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff
  • Attend team meetings and training sessions
  • Apply CPI techniques to manage and de-escalate behaviors (training provided if required)
  • Ensure student safety and well-being

Training & Support

Onboarding takes 5–7 days, including paid CPI training if needed. Ongoing coaching and professional development are provided.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • At least 6 months of ABA, behavioral technician, or special‑education experience
  • Experience supporting individuals with behavioral, developmental, or learning needs in structured settings (schools, clinics, ABA agencies, after‑school programs, etc.)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional
