School-Based Social Worker - Paterson, New Jersey

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract position offers an opportunity to provide essential social work services within a school setting in South Plainfield, NJ. The role supports students from PreK through 4th grade, helping to address social, emotional, and behavioral needs to promote their overall well-being and academic success. The assignment runs from ASAP through the end of the school year (June 19, 2026).

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct social work services to students, including assessment, counseling, and crisis intervention
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement support plans
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district policies
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure coordinated care
• Support students social-emotional development and foster a positive school environment

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid New Jersey School Social Worker (SSW) license
• Experience working with elementary-aged children, particularly PreK-4th grade
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage a caseload while prioritizing student needs
• Familiarity with school-based social work practices and resources

Work Schedule:

• 5.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday (27.5 hours weekly)
• Hours are 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, including a 1-hour unpaid lunch
