For School Year 2026-2027 189-Work Day CalendarAnnual Salary: $55,689+ (Actual Salary will be based on skills, competencies, and like experience) https://www.hsd2.org/our-district/financial-transparency**NOTE: The Career and College Counselor position is a 3-year grant-funded position.**Job Summary: The Career and College Counselor will promote equitable outcomes and foster meaningful student experiences by equipping school counselors and building staff and introducing K5 students to foundational concepts of career and college readiness and equipping 68 grade students with the tools to explore future career pathways. This position will collaborate with district leadership, students, staff, and families to build early awareness of future educational pathways, career possibilities, and the importance of lifelong learning. This is a 3-year grant-funded position focused on developing districtwide career connected learning school counseling supports by inspiring curiosity, goal setting, and self-awareness for elementary and middle school students.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with the Wraparound Services department and Career Connected Learning Coordinator to build and integrate work-based learning opportunities at the elementary, middle school, and alternative schools.Work collaboratively with the on-site School Counselors and building administration to coordinate efforts related to career-connected learning across each site (e.g., career days, college visits, etc.).Along with site administration & counselors, support classroom teachers' integration of career awareness into core and elective subjects.Develop systems and guidance to scale up Career Connected Learning activities districtwide.Provide resources and guidance to elementary, middle, and alternative school counselors on high school pathways, including advanced coursework, career and technical education (CTE), and college readiness programs.Complete grant-required reporting activities. Education, Training and Experience: Possess or be eligible for Colorado Department of Education Special Services License with a K-12 School Counselor Endorsement.Master's Degree or higher in School Counseling required.Completion of a School Counseling program.Over three years of experience working as a school counselor.

Experience working at the elementary and secondary levels as well as providing career and college support for students.Comfort with using digital tools for career exploration (e.g., Naviance, Xello, or similar platforms).Strong understanding and familiarity with Individual Career and Academic Plans (ICAP) and how to introduce them.Experience facilitating career exploration activities, such as interest inventories, guest speaker events, and career fairs, as well as others.Advanced oral and written communication, English language, presentation/training, critical thinking, problem solving, and organizational skills.Ability to manage confidentiality in all aspects of the job.Ability to promote and follow Board of Education, Superintendent, school and department policies and procedures.Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.Criminal background check and District fingerprinting required.Note: Applicants who upload a copy of their transcripts or certifications to their application may choose to redact any dates included on the transcripts or certifications, including date of birth and dates of attendance/graduation/completion.
