Experteer Overview In this role you lead and deliver comprehensive psychiatric care to adults in inpatient forensic and civil commitment units, directing a multidisciplinary team to implement recovery‑oriented plans. You provide clinical oversight, teaching, and participate in quality and safety initiatives to sustain high standards of care. Compensation / Benefits • Provide comprehensive psychiatric care including assessments, pharmacologic management, and psychotherapy • Conduct patient/family interviews, obtain informed consent, and ensure proper documentation • Head the Treatment Team, guiding multidisciplinary staff in individualized plans • Supervise staff and oversee milieu therapy and family-focused supervision • Review/approve treatment plans and orders; advise PMHNPs on clinical decisions • Coordinate discharge planning and liaise with community mental health centers • Provide cross-coverage for units and Staff On-Duty coverage • Engage in Medical Staff meetings, committees, and quality improvement initiatives • Supervise residents and medical students and drive service delivery improvements Tasks • Medical degree and ACGME-approved psychiatry residency • Unrestricted medical license in Virginia or ability to obtain • Current DEA registration or ability to obtain • Extensive psychiatric knowledge in acute forensic/civil inpatient or extended care settings • Proven leadership and supervision of a multidisciplinary team • Strong administrative skills and CMS documentation proficiency • Ability to complete required documentation timely • Experience with teaching/clinical supervision of trainees Key requirements • Relocation reimbursement • Sign-on bonus • Retention bonus • Health, vision, and dental insurance • Retirement with cash match • 13 paid holidays
