About the Role

Canon USA in Melville, NY is currently seeking a Privacy Analyst (Analyst, Privacy). The Privacy Analyst position is part of the Privacy team, which reviews business requests and provides guidance on the collection and use of personal data in compliance with (del)global privacy regulations. In this position, you will support the development and maintenance of the Privacy program and technology tools.

 

This position is full time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and an option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in office attendance on other days).  Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs.



Your Impact

  • Review product developments, vendor engagements and business initiatives, including technical and operational documentation to understand how personal data is used and shared and assist in the application and documentation of legal requirements associated with the collection, use, sharing, storing and deletion of the data
  • Collaborate with data users to provide guidance and requirements based on laws and internal policies related to personal data
  • Propose effective strategies to mitigate identified risks and assist in developing remediation plans at both the program and business unit level
  • Liaise with all Business verticals across (del) the l portfolios including working with corporate functions such as HR, InfoSec, Marketing, and others
  • Assist the lawyers with Consent Management Platforms, including reviewing detailed cookie information and other data related to tracking tools
  • Hold primary responsibility for managing the Privacy mailbox, handling both consumer and business inquiries
  • Prepare quarterly reports on compliance metrics and help define and improve operational workflows
  • Support various privacy and security-related projects as assigned
  • Create and maintain Privacy Documentation, Playbooks, and how to manuals
  • Create and support privacy Impact assessments
  • Supports privacy compliance efforts by monitoring data handling practices and assisting with the implementation of data retention and disposition schedules


About You: The Skills & Expertise You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3+ years of experience summarizing complex information into business-friendly terms
  • 3+ years of experience working with privacy and security-related matters
  • IAPP Designation (CIPP/CIPM) preferred
  • Proven research and analytical skills - knows how to use resources and seeks out new sources of information
  • Proven ability to quickly understand key business drivers, products and processes
  • Proven ability to build relationships and foster a collaborative atmosphere
  • Independence, initiative, and knowledge to work with minimal supervision
  • Proven ability to prioritize competing deadlines
  • Proven ability to be proactive in researching and obtaining critical information
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly while operating in a self-directed environment
  • Critical thinking while maintaining flexibility in a changing environment

 

We are providing the anticipated salary range for this role: $69,300 - $103,770 annually
