Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Care Aides with a minimum of one year of hands-on in-home care experience to join our team at Home Matters Caregiving.

In this role, you will provide essential, hands-on support to seniors who require assistance with activities of daily living. Guided by our nurse-led care model, you will receive ongoing training and professional support while playing a vital role in enhancing each client’s quality of life through personalized, respectful, and dignified care delivered in their homes or community settings.

This position requires a genuine passion for helping others, a strong commitment to quality care, and the ability to work effectively with individuals with varying needs, including those living with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, or other forms of dementia.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients while promoting their independence.
  • Monitor and report changes in client conditions, including vital signs and overall health status.
  • Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
  • Assist with medication administration as per care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts for transferring clients safely.
  • Implement care plans developed by healthcare professionals to meet individual client needs.
  • Engage clients in memory care activities and social interactions to enhance cognitive function.

Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 1 year experience in in-home care with active and good standing in Guardian
  • First aid and CPR certification preferred.
  • Experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, or nursing homes is highly desirable.
  • Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in health or behavior.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility challenges.
  • Proficient in cooking and meal preparation tailored to client dietary needs.
  • Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with home health practices and long-term care experience is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
