Experteer Overview As a Consultant Psychiatrist at Priory Hospital Bristol, you will lead senior-level clinical care on an addictions ward while contributing to hospital governance and strategy. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based, patient-centred treatment and drive service improvement. The role combines clinical leadership with medical director responsibilities, shaping care pathways for complex disorders. This is a values‑driven opportunity to influence outcomes and mentor colleagues in a supportive environment. Compensation / Benefits • Lead recruitment, induction and probation for doctors, ensuring compliance with registration and practising privileges for visiting consultants • Oversee medical staff appraisals, revalidation and performance management with HR and Hospital Director • Provide strategic and operational leadership as part of the Senior Management Team, implementing governance and best practice standards • Ensure robust medical cover across all levels, including out-of-hours and annual leave • Lead clinical investigations, complaints and crisis management, driving improvements with senior leaders • Oversee learning through complaints, incidents, benchmarking and service user feedback, embedding lessons hospital-wide • Maintain own clinical caseload and engage with commissioners and stakeholders on clinical expertise and innovation • Attend to training requirements and professional development as part of role progression Tasks • MRCPsych (or equivalent) • Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician status • CCT (or equivalent) • GMC specialist register and recognition in clinical specialty • minimum three years’ experience at Consultant level • proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams across hospital or community settings • track record of contributing to service change and improvement • strong leadership and influencing skills • commitment to values-based and evidence-based practice • leadership and management training or willingness to undertake it Key requirements • Free on-site parking • Birthday Holiday • Enhanced maternity pay • Contributory pension scheme • Flexible benefits including gym membership and healthcare plan • IPD sponsorship and leadership development
