Are you a Licensed Psychologist (PsyD or PhD) interested in performing independent medical assessments rather than traditional therapy?

This role focuses exclusively on Veterans Disability Compensation & Pension (C&P) mental health assessments and offers a predictable 1-day-per-week schedule with no treatment responsibilities.

Job Description

We are seeking Licensed Psychologists to perform mental health disability assessments for United States Veterans as part of the VA disability benefits process.

In this role, you will:

  • Review behavioral health records electronically through a secure web portal
  • Conduct in-person mental health disability assessments
  • Complete VA Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) electronically

The Licensed Psychologist does NOT make disability determinations. All determinations are made by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs based on the clinical findings documented in the DBQs.

This is an assessment-only role:

  • No therapy
  • No treatment plans
  • No prescribing
  • No follow-up care

Schedule & Work Location

  • Schedule: 3 dayS per week
  • Average volume: 3–4 Veterans per day
  • Work location: In-person
  • Locations: Multiple U.S. locations available
  • Setting: Designated per diem clinical locations

Location assignments are based on provider availability and current operational needs.Compensation

  • Competitive per-exam compensation
  • Rates based on vendor contract
  • Paid as a 1099 Independent Contractor

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Psychologist license (PhD or PsyD)
  • 2 years of clinical practice experience preferred
  • Graduate of an APA-accredited doctoral program
  • Must have or be willing to obtain individual malpractice/professional liability insurance
  • Ability to use your own ADA/OSHA-compliant office or utilize designated per diem clinic space
  • Comfortable working autonomously at a designated per diem location
  • Telehealth may be considered on a limited basis if in-person space is unavailable

Training & Support

  • VA-required and vendor-specific training provided
  • Ongoing administrative, scheduling, and QA support
