POSITION SUMMARY

RBTs provide hands on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services under the direct supervision of the BCBAs and BCaBAs. RBTs implement treatment plans created by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBAs). RBTs assist in data gathering, and record maintenance of assigned clients.

Required training/certification can be completed upon hiring.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions:

  • Implement individualized programs for children and young adults based on ABA principles that increase communication, self-help, social and play skills
  • Utilize positive reinforcement and antecedent modification to increase appropriate behaviors over time
  • Manage inappropriate behaviors that occur through the implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and consultation with our Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs)
  • Facilitate interactions with peers, coworkers, and families
  • Keep the children motivated to learn through preference assessments
  • Have fun with our clients while teaching them the skills that they need
  • Other duties as assigned

Other Requirements:

- Completion of RBT 40-hour training seminar, competency assessment (initial and renewal) and passing BACB RBT examination

- Continuation of yearly maintenance RBT credential

- Must be able to receive detailed information and feedback through oral and written communication

- Must pass criminal background check

- CPR/First Aid Certification

- HIPAA Certification

- DCF Certification

- Fluency in the English language is necessary in order to perform this job

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to lift to 30 pounds
  • Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be willing and able to hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan while working with children with challenging behavior

SKILLS & ABILITIES

· Minimum Education Requirement: High School Diploma, or equivalent.

· Experience: Preferred 2 years or more working Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). At least 1 year of experience working with children with or without special needs required.

· Computer Skills: Strong internet and technology skills. Strong skills utilizing a computer and tablet. Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

· Certificates & Licenses: 40-hour RBT Course, RBT certification in accordance with BACB requirements. Annual updates.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed primarily in the center. Work is at times performed in stressful situations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate in the center setting.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
