Behavior Technician Position


The Behavior Technician is a direct support position, supporting people living in Enriched Living, LLC Community Residential Services programs (Group Homes). This is NOT an entry level direct care position, but rather a position for experienced direct support staff. All Behavior Technician positions support people that have significant behavioral health concerns.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Consistently adheres to the principles of Positive Behavior Supports.
  • Provide Crisis prevention/intervention services to the people served
  • Monitor the people supported for symptoms of decompensation, crisis and medication side effects, and intervenes when necessary.
  • Incorporate the CSSP and CSSP Addendum into daily interaction with the people served.
  • Assist the people supported with problem solving different aspects of community living
  • Maintain complete and professional documentation for direct service hours
  • Participate in scheduled and spontaneous recreational events, medical appointments, family events, psychiatric appointments, and other activities of the person’s choice.
  • Maintain confidentiality by complying with HIPAA and MN Data Privacy
  • Be a reliable and professional member of the support team.
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings, and other meetings requested by the DC/DM
  • Maintain clear, open, and honest communication with program management.
  • Other duties as assigned

Working conditions:

This job will require you to work in multiple locations, as you will be traveling to the homes of people supported. Other times you will be required to spend time at the office participating in staff meetings, completing documentation, or meeting with management.

Qualifications:

These homes are based on tier levels, and all candidates will need to have one of the following qualifications to be considered:

Level 2: No degree- min. 3 years’ experience with positive behavioral supports or,

  • Associates- min. 2 years’ experience with positive behavioral supports or,
  • BA- min. 1 years’ experience with positive behavioral supports or,
  • MA- min. 1 years’ experience with positive behavioral supports

Level 3: No degree- min. 4 years’ experience ? with positive behavioral supports or,

  • Associates- min. 3 years’ experience with positive behavioral supports or,
  • BA- min. 2 years’ experience with positive behavioral supports or,
  • MA- min. 1 years’ experience with positive behavioral supports

Level 4: No degree- min. 5 years’ experience with positive behavioral supports or,

  • Associates- min. 4 years’ experience with positive behavioral supports or,
  • BA- min. 3 years’ experience with positive behavioral supports or,
  • MA- min. 2 years’ experience with positive behavioral supports

Level 5: No degree- min. 6 years’ experience with positive behavioral supports or,

  • Associates- min. 5 years’ experience with positive behavioral supports or,
  • BA- min. 4 years’ experience with positive behavioral supports or,
  • MA- min. 3 years’ experience with positive behavioral supports

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to adhere to professional documentation standards.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from medical professionals, management, staff, people served, and regulatory authorities
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general human services periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.

Physical requirements:

This position must be able to successfully complete the Positive Behavior Supports class and must be able to perform all of the physical skills. In addition, this person needs to be able to lift at least 40lbs and be able to stand/walk for an extended period of time.
