Youth Community Support Specialist

Pay Rate: $16.70 per hour

Job Overview

Advancing Opportunities, an affiliate of Apis Services, Inc., is currently seeking Youth Community Support Specialists to provide individualized support to youth with disabilities and their families within the community.


This role is ideal for paraprofessionals, special education teachers, or individuals with experience working in youth group homes who are looking for afterschool, evening, or weekend opportunities.

Position Summary

As a Part-Time Youth Community Support Specialist, you will make a meaningful impact by providing supervision, guidance, mentoring, and skill-building support to youth with intellectual and physical disabilities. Services are delivered in community and home-based settings and are designed to promote independence, confidence, and positive family relationships.

Key Responsibilities


  • Provide one-on-one and small-group support to youth with disabilities


  • Assist with skill development, socialization, and positive behavior support


  • Serve as a mentor and positive role model


  • Support families by reinforcing goals and strategies


  • Promote community inclusion and engagement


  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and safety at all times

Qualifications

Successful candidates must:



  • Be 18 years of age or older


  • Possess a High School Diploma or GED


  • Hold a valid driver’s license


  • Ability to successfully complete:



    • State and Federal criminal background checks


    • Drug screening


    • Pre-employment physical and PPD



  • Willingness to complete all required orientation and pre-service training upon hire
