We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teachers to join a fully specialized K–12 school environment. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the teacher will deliver high-quality instruction and support to students with special education needs. This role involves close collaboration with general education staff, implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs), and providing specialized instruction and consultation.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct instruction to K–12 students with special education needs.
- Participate in planning and implementing individualized student programs.
- Assist with specialized instruction, tutorials, and classroom support.
- Collaborate with general education staff and interdisciplinary teams.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local education standards.
- Complete required documentation using the Paylocity system.
- Attend mandatory orientation at the Largo campus.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by district regulations
- Minimum one year of teaching experience (preferred)
- Preferred Certifications:
- Standard Elementary Teaching
- Standard Secondary Teaching
- Standard Special Education Teaching
- Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1)
- Current CPR (if applicable)
- TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable)
- Current health certificate (per state/contract requirements)
- Must meet all federal, state, and local standards
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Maryland Teacher Certification must be active, in progress, or expired but eligible for reactivation
- School can assist with reactivation but not initial certification
