Summary

Baylor College of Medicine is recruiting a full-time Perinatal Psychologist to join the Division of Maternal Mental Health at CHRISTUS Children's in San Antonio. The psychologist will also receive an appointment as a full-time Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). This position has a competitive salary and full benefits package.

Job Duties

  • Provide evidence-based outpatient integrated behavioral health services to women and partners in the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Clinic during pregnancy and the postpartum period.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams working with families expecting fetuses with congenital anomalies and preparing for surgery after delivery.
  • Provide inpatient consultations/interventions to labor and delivery units as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with OB/MFM, Psychiatry, and Social Work to establish treatment plans during perinatal and postnatal periods.
  • Program development regarding NICU services for parent support.
  • Program development regarding developmental and cognitive testing for children aged 0-3 born with medical complexities.
  • Supervise pediatric and psychiatry residents and psychology fellows and interns.

The position is 100% clinical, but allows ample time for research, teaching, and program development. Providers receive support for continuing education and professional development.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology at APA-accredited programs.
  • Completed an APA-accredited psychology internship.
  • At least two years of relevant clinical experience in perinatal mental health or women's health (a formal postdoctoral fellowship is preferred).
  • Licensed or license-eligible in Texas.
  • Spanish-speaker is strongly preferred, although not required.
