Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caseworker (QMHP-CS) to join our mental health services team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive support, counseling, and case management to individuals across diverse populations, including children, adults, and those with developmental disabilities. This role involves working in various settings such as outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, and through telehealth platforms. The successful applicant will utilize a broad range of clinical skills to promote recovery, resilience, and well-being while adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining accurate medical documentation. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards.
- Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions focusing on mental health counseling, grief counseling, PTSD care, addiction counseling, gender issues counseling, and crisis intervention.
- Implement crisis management techniques to de-escalate situations involving behavioral health crises or developmental disabilities.
- Engage in case management activities including intake procedures, service coordination, and ongoing patient support.
- Document all clinical interactions accurately within medical records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and medical terminology standards.
- Utilize telehealth experience to deliver services remotely when applicable.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patients with autism spectrum disorders, geriatrics, pediatrics, special education needs, or chronic pain conditions.
- Maintain professional development through research activities and staying current with CPT coding updates for billing purposes.
- Support patients’ social needs through direct support services and community resource linkage.
Experience
- Proven experience in mental health or behavioral health settings with a focus on clinical counseling or case management.
- Familiarity with psychotherapy modalities including motivational interviewing, psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Experience working with children and families as well as individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols.
- Background in hospital or outpatient clinic environments is preferred.
- Proficiency in medical documentation systems utilizing ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) and CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Telehealth experience is highly desirable for remote service delivery.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical records management.
- Skills in social work practices including patient assessment, behavior management, grief counseling, addiction counseling, and gender issues counseling are advantageous. Pay: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
