Experteer Overview In this role you provide recovery-oriented psychiatric care as a licensed medical doctor, serving OMH clients and integrating mental and physical health. You may be a first-line prescriber or, at higher level, supervise peers and manage care at a facility or unit. The position supports a mission to reduce disparities and improve outcomes for underserved populations. You will work with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver accountable, measurable treatment that aligns with OMH goals. Compensation / Benefits • Diagnose, treat, and prescribe psychiatric care for assigned individuals (Psychiatrist 1) • Independently diagnose, treat, prescribe, and supervise care for assigned individuals (Psychiatrist 2) • Provide clinical supervision and guidance to lower-level psychiatrists, physicians, and/or other medical providers (Psychiatrist 2) • Manage care and treatment services for an assigned facility, unit, or program (Psychiatrist 2) Tasks • License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State • ABPN certification (psychiatry) • For HELPS: ABPN-certified psychiatry and NYS license/registration • One year of permanent competitive service or transfer-eligible experience for a competitive class appointment (if from within State Service) • Training program in psychiatry approved by ABPN (for Psychiatrist 1) Key requirements • Psychiatrist Loan Repayment Program up to $120,000 • Supplemental income up to 50% for evening/night/weekend coverage • Defense and Indemnification Protection • OMH CME Program • Generous paid time off • NYS medical, dental, & vision insurance
