Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and clinically grounded Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) to join our growing practice. This role is hybrid, combining remote telehealth sessions with in-person therapy at our office. The associate will provide individual therapy and may have opportunities to facilitate or co-facilitate group therapy, depending on interest and training.

This position includes high-quality clinical supervision and is ideal for an associate who values ethical practice, professional growth, and collaborative support while working toward licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, and/or children (based on competence and preference)
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate group therapy (optional, with training and support)
  • Conduct clinical assessments, treatment planning, and progress notes in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate and compliant documentation per legal, ethical, and organizational standards
  • Participate in weekly clinical supervision (individual and/or group)
  • Collaborate with supervisor and team regarding clinical care and case consultation
  • Uphold ethical standards as outlined by the BBS and professional organizations
  • Maintain professional boundaries and a client-centered, trauma-informed approach

Supervision & Support

  • Weekly supervision provided by a qualified supervisor (meets BBS requirements)
  • Support with case conceptualization, clinical skill development, and licensure readiness
  • Guidance with documentation, ethical decision-making, and professional identity development
  • Hours applicable toward California licensure

Schedule & Flexibility

  • Flexible scheduling with a mix of:
  • Remote telehealth sessions
  • In-person sessions at the office
  • Evening and/or weekend availability preferred (but negotiable)

Qualifications

Required:

  • Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) in good standing
  • Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or related field
  • Eligibility to work in the state where services are provided
  • Strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and communication skills
  • Comfort with telehealth platforms and electronic health records

Preferred:

  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Interest in trauma-informed care, anxiety, depression, relationships, or group therapy
  • Bilingual skills a plus (not required)
