Location: Remote – Providing Services to Ocean Psychological Services, Inc.Position SummaryThe BCBA Consultant provides assessment-based clinical services on an as-needed basis, including Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), Initial Assessments (IA), and limited ongoing clinical support when specifically requested and approved. This is a project-based, independent contractor role and does not include employee duties such as staff supervision, case management, ongoing program development, or the provision of employer-directed work schedules.The Consultant may accept or decline individual assignments and retains autonomy over how services are performed, consistent with professional standards and applicable regulations.Scope of Work (Contracted Services)Services may include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Initial Assessments (IA).
- Developing assessment-based recommendations and reports.
- Providing short-term clinical consultation or support only when mutually agreed upon in writing prior to the assignment.
- Collaborating with families and clinical teams for assessment clarification or guidance, as needed.
- Offering professional input on treatment planning when requested.
- Participating in case reviews or team meetings only when pre-approved as part of the contracted scope.
- Maintaining documentation consistent with BACB ethical guidelines and payer requirements.
- Ongoing supervision of BTs, RBTs, or Mid-Levels
- Managing clinical caseloads
- Setting schedules or availability requirements
- Performance evaluations of employees
- Attending mandatory meetings
- Providing leadership, hiring, or training duties
- Program ownership or long-term case management
- Active BCBA certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience practicing as a BCBA.
- Knowledge of ABA methodologies including ABA, ESDM, TEACCH, PECS, PRT, etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage contracted work within agreed timelines.
- Must comply with all applicable BACB ethical guidelines.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check if required by contract.
- Experience conducting assessments preferred.
- $50–$55 per hour, based on experience and assignment type.
- Paid based on completed and approved services (hourly or per assessment, depending on assignment terms).
- Contractors are responsible for all taxes, insurance, expenses, tools, and materials necessary to perform services.
- No employee benefits are provided (including health insurance, PTO, holidays, or retirement benefits).
- Contractors determine their own work methods and schedules, except where coordination with clients is required.
- Contractors may accept or decline offered assignments.
- Contractors are responsible for maintaining their own professional liability insurance unless OPS elects to provide coverage under a separate agreement.
